I’m pleased to announce that ArtPal 1.0 is now available!

Version 1.0 boasts numerous new features and bugfixes.

Among the features:

• Better tagging mechanism prevents potential conflicts with other plugins.
• Multiple button instances can now co-exist in the same post.
• No need to embed parameters in your post tags. Price and shipping costs now set via Custom Fields.
• Title of artwork is pulled from title of blog entry, eliminating the need for it to be entered twice.
• Regular prices are co-displayed in crossed-out text with sale prices when items are on sale.
• Management page reorganized and cleaned up.

Among the bugfixes:

• Bad item number lookups are caught; an error is reported instead of a bad link.
• Spelling & grammatical errors fixed in administration panel.
• PayPal button options limited to image files only; non-image files in directory are ignored.

If you’ve got a blog with hundreds of ArtPal buttons already created the old way, don’t worry! Version 1.0 comes with an update utility that will update all of your posts automatically!

I’m pleased to announce that we’ve added a free new feature to all client hosting plans!

Effective immediately, Digital Sublimity will be performing weekly off-site backups of all of its hosted web sites. This means that our clients are protected not only from hardware failure and user error, but also from less avoidable things like natural disasters. Having your data stored at two distinct locations means that you can feel confident that your data will remain in tact through flooding, fire or hurricanes.

There is no additional charge for this service, and no action is required on the part of our clients. Backups are performed every Sunday at 2am EST.

In addition to making it completely compatible with Wordpress 2.3, we’ve added a new feature: choice of PayPal buttons! And it couldn’t be any easier to do than this:

PostsByImage 0.2 is now available! Among the improvements and added features are the following:

• Fully compatible with the new Wordpress 2.3 database taxonomy
• Compatible with WP_Cache, allowing your pages to load more quickly
• Automatic plugin configuration on setup–just activate and go on most web servers!

Because this update is required to run on the latest and most secure version of Wordpress, ALL clients will receive the upgrade free of charge (even those without service contracts). If you’re a registered client, check your inbox–instructions for upgrading await you!

PostsByImage v0.2 will be available on Sunday, November 11, 2007. This version will be fully compatible with the new database schema used in Wordpress 2.3, and will be a required update for users of Wordpress 2.3 or later.

Because this update is required to function with the latest Wordpress database, we’ve decided to give all existing customers a free upgrade, regardless of your service contract!

I will email all applicable technical contacts with instructions on how to get and instal this latest version as soon as I finish testing it. And as always, if your site is hosted by Digital Sublimity, we’ll take care of it for you!
